ROCK ISLAND – Dennis C. Kuntzi, 69, of Rock Island, passed away Oct. 15, 2020 at Veterans Administration Central Iowa Health Care in Des Moines, Iowa.
Private services will be held. Interment with military honors, will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Nichols Bewley Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Denny’s family and arrangements.
Denny was born Dec. 9, 1950 in Mendota to Charles Junior and Mary Katherine Sojat Kuntzi.
Survivors left to honor and cherish his memory include two daughters, Dena (John) Walker and Danielle Kuntzi, both of Valley, Ala.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Tom (Sarah) Kuntzi, Mike (Sherry) Kuntzi, Chuck (Nancy) Kuntzi and Jim (Donna) Kuntzi; and four sisters, Kathy Gregory, Charla (Jerry) Sheridan, Sue Ray and Deb (Paul Magnuson) Kuntzi.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Marsha Kuntzi, Mary Gould and Carol Amfahr.
Denny was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served from 1970 to 1971. He received the Soldiers Medal for Heroism and The Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Achievement in Ground Operations Against Hostile Forces. He had worked as a security guard and was a DJ.
