SUBLETTE — The Ellice Dinges Center in Sublette will be getting new windows after the village board the approved the purchase on Sept. 13.

The Sublette Village Board met for its regular monthly meeting on Sept. 13 in the Ellice Dinges Center. All board members except Jeff Myers were present.

Sublette Village Trustee Julie Kessel presented a bid for windows from RP Lumber and a bid from Klein Construction for installation. The total cost of the project is $10,969. Kessel told the board the price of the windows had increased recently, so she recommended the board purchase the windows without the screens, saving the village money. The motion to purchase the new windows was approved.

In other board news:

Don Dinges reported that the village had a good turnout for celebrating the 50th anniversary of Woodhaven Lakes recently.

He said the annual Country Car Show was held last weekend and although the number of cars was down, the quality of cars was good. He also reported that the Pullin in the Park event was the best the village ever had and praised Chris Leffelman and the group that organized the event.

Looking ahead, Dinges said he met with Sublette 365 to go over the line-up of events for 2022. He also told the board about a new event being planned in Sublette – Antique Power Days, which will be held Sept. 24-26 at the Mendota Hills Campground located on U.S. 52 northwest of Sublette. The event will feature steam power, parades, hay rides, sawmilling and much more.

Dinges ended the discussion with a report on the Christmas in the Village event that will be held in a couple of weeks.

Trick or Treat hours were approved. The Sublette Trick or Treat hours will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31.

The next Sublette Village Board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11 at the Ellice Dinges Center.
