Souba writes "Flight of the Butterfly," a sequel in her children's series

GENESEO — With her latest book, Flight of the Butterfly, author Kimberly Souba delivers the second in her children’s series that she began writing in 2020 during the COVID Pandemic.
Flight of the Butterfly tells the story of a butterfly who shares her fears about flying but must learn to trust the God who created her. Though written as a children’s book, it proves to have lessons for adults as well.
Illustrator, Alaina Selzler, has illustrated Flight of the Butterfly as well as the first book in Souba’s children’s series, A Caterpillar’s Journey.
“I’m so blessed to have her illustrating my books. She shares my vision of bringing Christ in to all the books and her illustrations represent that as well,” Souba said of Selzler. The two were connected through Selzler’s mother whom Souba worked with when living in North Dakota.
Souba, granddaughter of Dona and the late Bob Becker of LaMoille, is a 1996 graduate of LaMoille Community High School, 2004 graduate of Illinois Central College in East Peoria, and a 2008 graduate of Valley City State University. She’s taught in Catholic and public schools throughout Illinois. Currently, Souba is teaching at St. Malachy Catholic School in Geneseo where she also serves at the Director of Religious Education and Middle School Youth Ministry Coordinator at St. Malachy Catholic Church.
Souba is also the author of From Death to New Life: The Transformation of a Soul, a compilation of poems.
