LA SALLE - Shane Michael Veit, 40, of LaSalle passed away July 22, 2019 at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 26 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Cameron Graper officiating. Burial will be at Troy Grove Cemetery, Troy Grove. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service on July 26.
Shane was born Sept. 11, 1978 in Mendota to Michael and Rhonda (Aves) Veit.
Survivors include his parents of LaSalle; one sister, Alison (Jonathan) Heafitz of Silver Spring, Md.; one niece, Molly; one nephew, Brady; and his Weimaraner, Claire.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Shane was a 1996 graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School. He attended Illinois Valley Community College and worked as a pipe fitter.
