Survivors include his wife of Yorkville; five children, Lisa (Tim) Simmons of Sandwich, Mark (Christy) Dinges of Edmond, Okla., Michael (Julie) Dinges of Pflugerville, Texas, Tina (Bryan) Klis of Lenexa, Kan. and Chris (Sharon) Dinges of Lake Worth, Fla.; 10 granddaughters; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; and his loving mother, Eleanora Dinges of Mendota.

Russ was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Yorkville. In 1960, he began his 42-year career at Caterpillar in Montgomery. Prior to retiring as a manufacturing manager from the Joliet plant, he took a five-year assignment at Caterpillar in Belgium. During this time he enjoyed traveling throughout Europe with his wife, family and friends. Russ enjoyed many things, but some of his favorites were boating with his family at Lake Holiday, golfing with his lifelong friends and playing cards in the bridge and pinochle clubs they belonged to. He treasured his fishing trips to Canada and friendly games of poker with his sons. Russ was a loving son, husband and supportive father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was very proud of his grandchildren and always cherished the time he spent with them. His five children are very thankful for the many qualities their dad instilled in them.
