MENDOTA - Roxie F. Schultz, 80, of Peru, formerly of Mendota, passed away Oct. 16, 2021 surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with Robbie Casino officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date.
Roxie was born July 10, 1941 in Rolla, Mo. to Elmer and Virginia McLarning. She married Phillip Schultz on Nov. 26, 1964 in Sycamore. He preceded her in death in 2012.
Survivors include three children, Tracy (Tom) Hocking of LaSalle, Vince (Denise) Schultz of Peru and Shane (Taylor Trainer) Schultz of LaSalle, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and two brothers.
Roxie worked for many years at Mendota Community Hospital in environmental services. She is most remembered for always having a warm and inviting smile whether it be for strangers, loved ones or anyone in between. One of her favorite past times was rooting for her favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals.
