MENDOTA - Robert P. Kurtz, 83, of Mendota, passed away Nov. 20, 2021 at his home.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date and held at the Nazarene Church, Mendota.
Robert was born Jan. 23, 1938 in Waltham Township to Joseph and Jeannette (Hadley) Kurtz. He married Linda Kent on June 12, 2000.
Survivors include his wife, Linda of Mendota; one daughter, Megan Sonsoucie of Mendota; one son, Jeremiah (Rebecca) Nance of Florida; grandchildren, Brandon and Hayley Pickett, Summer Nance, Finn Sessler and Mariah (James) Baxter; and a great-grandson, Bentley Baxter.
Robert served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He worked for Charles Chips in Peoria and was a dockman for Consolidated Freightways for 30 years. After retirement, he was a security guard for Del Monte in Mendota. He enjoyed collecting old-fashioned diecast cars.
