OTTAWA – The Reddick Mansion Association presents its third “Architectural and Historical Scavenger Hunt of Ottawa” on Saturday, June 22, starting at 6:30 p.m.
“People really enjoy trivia nights during the winter,” said Lorraine McCallister, President of the Reddick Mansion Association. “An outdoor photo scavenger hunt is a great summer version of those trivia nights. We’ve had a great time the last two years—we’re hoping previous players will be back and that many new ‘scavengers’ will join the hunt, too!”
Hosted by RMA board member and trivia expert, Steve Novario, the scavenger hunt will begin at the mansion where participants will receive a packet of photos and clues of architectural and historical highlights throughout Ottawa—the perimeters of the search area will be from Pine Street to the west to OHS to the east and from the I & M Canal to the north to the Illinois River to the south. People will have approximately 1.5 hours to walk or drive around and identify as many photos as possible. According to Novario, “We have new categories this year including “‘O’ Town” and “Here’s my Number, Call Me Maybe”. Some of the photos are easily recognized, but, others will require people to look at local landmarks from new and different perspectives.”
At 8:15 p.m., the teams will check back in at the mansion and enjoy refreshments while the winners are determined and prizes awarded.
The cost is $10 per person and teams are welcome. Please contact the Reddick Mansion at (815) 433-6100 or visit our website, www.reddickmansion.org, for more information and to reserve your space.
