Princeton races past Trojan F-S gridders

PRINCETON – The Mendota freshman-sophomore football team dropped a 54-0 decision at Princeton on Sept. 19.

Princeton zoomed out to a 28-0 first-quarter lead on touchdown runs of 33, 57 and 64 yards, and a punt return for a touchdown of 55 yards. The home team added two more TDs in the second period on 9 and 36 yard runs.

The Tigers completed the scoring with one touchdown each in the third and fourth frames of 61 and 18 yards.

Mendota’s offense was totally stymied by Princeton as it had a negative 4 yards for the game. Quarterback Aden Tillman completed two passes for 35 yards, but the Trojans had negative 39 yards rushing. Giovanni McIntosh had two pass receptions for Mendota (0-4).

Princeton running back Casey Etheridge churned out 191 yards rushing on just four carries as the Tigers accumulated 378 total yards.
