Paw Paw getting new waste disposal company

PAW PAW – The area around the sewer ponds will be graded and new gravel laid, it was announced at the March 8 meeting of the Paw Paw Village Board.

The EPA requires that sump-pumps and downspouts not be connected to the village’s sewer system. The Village will be sending a letter to all residents informing them of the regulations, and verifying that each house is in compliance, and has back-flow protection.

The clinic on Wiley has gone through asbestos removal and had a new roof installed.

The village Easter egg hunt will be on Saturday, April 8.

Internet access will be installed in the Community Center’s downstairs.

The Spring Garage sales will be April 21-22, and village clean-up will be April 24-25.

The Village has signed a contract with Northern Illinois Disposal as its new waste removal company. The last day for Republic Services pick-up will be March 30; they will collect their waste containers at that time. Northern Illinois Disposal will drop off waste containers on Friday, March 31. Town garbage pick-up day will be changed to Fridays.

Senergy Solar company is researching available land for new sites. They will be exploring sites abutting Paw Paw.

Shady Oaks Wind Farm is seeking a grant for connecting with ComEd.

The Village Clerk has reported that the Village is close to completing the codification project, updating and streamlining information. When the project is completed, the ordinances will be available through the Village website.
