Mendota H.S. to celebrate Homecoming Week Oct. 3-8

MENDOTA – Homecoming Week 2022 at Mendota High School will be Oct. 3-8. This year’s theme is “Dancing Through the Decades.”

The class Homecoming hallway decorating contest will begin Friday, Sept. 30. Class hallways will be aligned to the theme of Homecoming Week.

The Homecoming assembly will take place on Monday, Oct. 3 at the MHS athletic field. This year’s royalty will be announced and there will be fun games played by the students.

Monday is also “Class Color Day.” Seniors wear red, juniors wear blue, sophomores wear black and freshmen wear green.

Tuesday is “Dress to Impress vs. PJ Day,” Wednesday is “Dancing Through the Decades Day” and Thursday is “Purple & Gold Day.” Everyone is encouraged to wear purple and gold and show their Trojan spirit.

This year’s Homecoming parade will be Thursday at 4 p.m. The parade route begins on Wisconsin Avenue near Meriden Street and will proceed south to Washington Street, east on Washington Street, north on Illinois Avenue, west on Monroe Street and north on Wisconsin Avenue to conclude at the Sullivan’s Foods parking lot.

There will be no school on Friday, however, at 7 p.m., everyone is encouraged to support the Trojans by attending the Homecoming football game against Kewanee.

Homecoming Week festivities will conclude on Saturday, Oct. 8 with the dance from 7-10 p.m. in the MHS gymnasium.
