Hannah M. Cornwell

DUNLAP – Hannah Marie Cornwell, 29, of Dunlap, was welcomed into heaven on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023. Baby Cornwell was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Aug. 19, 2023.

A visitation for Hannah and Baby Cornwell will be held on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at Cox-Knapp Funeral Home in Paxton. For those unable to attend the visitation, a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023, from 4-6 p.m., at Cedar Hills Baptist Church in Dunlap.

Hannah was born on Jan. 1, 1994, in Urbana, the daughter of Mark and Marilyn (Bushue) Morris. Hannah married Blake Cornwell on Sept. 17, 2022, in Laura.

She is survived by her husband, Blake Cornwell; one daughter, Charlotte Marie Morris; her parents, Mark and Marilyn Morris; two brothers, Bryant (Bethany) Morris and Adam (Kylee) Morris; one sister, Abby Morris; maternal grandmother, Ruby Bushue; paternal grandmother, Barbara Morris; and her nieces and nephews, Maven, Luther, Mack, Penny, Hallie, and Bennett. She is also survived by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Paula and Craig Cornwell; a sister-in-law, Thea Cornwell; and maternal grandparents-in-law, Connie and Don Scheuermann.

Hannah was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, William Morris; maternal grandfather, Richard Bushue; paternal grandparents-in-law, Rod and Sandy Cornwell; one sister, Meghan Morris; and a niece, Victoria Morris.

Hannah dedicated her life to the care of others and started her career as a certified nursing assistant for five years and continued her calling as a pediatric critical care nurse at OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois for the last six years. She loved experiencing the outdoors, gardening, baking around the holidays especially Christmas, traveling with her husband and daughter, and being with her dogs. Always the person taking photos at gatherings, Hannah loved being around her friends and family. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. The Bible was the truth she lived her life by each and every day. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorials may be made to Illinois Bright Directions, to be used for Charlotte’s future education.
