Mendota’s girls’ soccer team captured a hard-earned 1-0 win at Ottawa on March 24.

Crystal Garcia scored for MHS in the first half, and then the squad used a great defensive performance from Flor Delao, Kaley Siemer and goalie Naitzy Garcia to preserve the one-goal lead.

LaSalle-Peru nipped Mendota, 2-1, on March 27 at L-P.

The Lady Cavs led 2-0 for much of the contest before Mendota got its lone goal from Crystal Garcia off an assist from Noemi Arteaga.

Naitzy Garcia had eight goalie saves.
