MENDOTA - Long time blood donor Ronald Brunoehler reached a special milestone at the Feb. 11 American Red Cross blood drive held at the Mendota Moose Family Center. Brunoehler hit the 40-gallon mark helping the blood drive to collect 71 good units, which surpassed its goal of 60. This included 55 whole blood donations and 16 double red cell donations.
Several volunteers helped the day run smoothly. They included Paddy Schwemlein, Sandy Schroeder, Peg Mathesius-Cerveny, Mary Lou Saylor, Kristi Carroll and Lori Simonton. Black Bros. Co. sponsored the BBQ, egg salad sandwiches and all the extras. Mendota Subway again donated sandwiches for the donor luncheon. Desserts were provided by Paddy Schwemlein, Leann O’Brien, Marlene Simonton, Kristi Carroll and Lori Simonton.
The next bloodmobile will be held on Tuesday, April 7 at the Mendota Moose Family Center. If you would like to make an appointment or have questions, please call Lori at (815) 866-3582.
