MENDOTA - The Mendota Area Y is introducing its new After School Program this fall. This is a structured program that offers a great option for parents who need a place for their children to go after school.
The program, which is open to students in kindergarten through fifth grade, will be held at Lincoln School from the end of the school day until 5:30 p.m. starting on Wednesday, Aug. 20. Children will receive an after school snack, have special activities, homework assistance and much more. With professional staff, the Y hopes to benefit children and their parents by sending the kids home worn out from the program’s activities and with some homework completed.
Rachel Moore, Mendota YMCA branch manager, said the Y is excited to be in collaboration with District 289 in offering this program for area youth. “It has been amazing to see the growth at the Mendota Y facility,” she said. “Now that we have a building, the focus is to continue to provide programs and activities for the area’s youth as that is a main mission of the YMCA. The after school program is something we have wanted to provide, and we are so excited to finally be able to offer it!”
Pricing discounts are available for multiple children in a family and children may attend the program as many days as needed.
