OTTAWA - The LaSalle County Extension Service Foundation Board held their annual meeting on Aug. 23. Two board members were recognized for their service, Dave Fowler, who has over 20 years as a board member and president, and Dale Wolf, who has served for many years as treasurer of the Foundation.

The Foundation also welcomed one new member, Paul Marshall of Serena, to the board.

Officers for the coming year include Dale Wolf of Ottawa, president; Alan Adams of Sandwich, vice president; Shirley Oetken of Marseilles, secretary; and Paul Marshall of Serena, treasurer. Board members continuing include Alan Adams of Sandwich, Gail Hayward-Kapp of Grand Ridge, Ralph Walter of Grand Ridge, Steve Malinsky of Ottawa, Jack Cantlin of Earlville and Jerry Lundeen of Sandwich.

The Foundation was established 28 years ago to purchase a building to house University of Illinois Extension and its 4-H program. This year, a new granite sign was placed outside of that building. The sign was moved from the former Northwest Region Extension Office in Moline to the local office in Ottawa at 1689 North 31st Rd.

Richard Vollmer of Pavers and More donated his expertise and materials to install the new sign. Paul Barrett, University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener/Master Naturalist Program Coordinator, directed the installation and landscaping for the sign and LaSalle County Extension Master Gardener volunteers assisted in the project.
