MHS baseball, softball move up a class

BLOOMINGTON – Two more sports at Mendota High School are moving up a class after the Illinois High School Association determined its enrollment classifications for the 2013-14 school year.

Baseball and softball will go from 2A to 3A beginning next year. Mendota’s enrollment is 622, and in the four-class system in baseball and softball, the class 3A range is from 610 to 1469, making Mendota one of the smallest schools in 3A.

For the 2013-14 school year, here is a breakdown of classes for all of Mendota’s sports. Football classification is determined at the end of the season.

Four-Class System

Baseball (3A), enrollment range of 610-1469; Boys’ Basketball (3A), enrollment range of 597-1421; Girls’ Basketball (3A), enrollment range of 597-1421; Softball (3A), enrollment range of 610-1469; Volleyball (3A), enrollment range of 524-1421

Three-Class System

Cross Country (1A), enrollment range of 0-743; Golf (2A), enrollment range of 506-1439; Boys’ Soccer (1A), enrollment range of 0-667; Girls’ Soccer (1A), enrollment range of 0-800; Boys’ Track (2A), enrollment range of 523-1420; Girls’ Track (2A), enrollment range of 523-1420; Wrestling (1A), enrollment range of 0-654
