Posted: Tuesday, Mar 12th, 2013

Toys will be on display at numerous locations in Sublette.

SUBLETTE – The 31st annual Sublette Farm Toy and Antique Tractor Show will be held on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17.

The show will be spread throughout the village in nine buildings. There will be over 300 vendor tables and over 200 full-size tractors are expected. This year’s feature tractor is John Deere.

The Midwest Oliver Club will also participate in the show as they will be celebrating their 20th anniversary. The original informal organizational meeting was held in Sublette in 1993.

The Sublette firefighters will have a pancake and sausage breakfast beginning at 7 a.m. Sunday at the Ellice Dinges Center. There will also be a craft show on Sunday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish Hall.

The toy show also features a large operating “O” scale train layout along with several miniature farm layouts.

Other features include a rollover simulator operated by the Illinois State Police and a solar race car displayed by Illinois State University. Antique cars and trucks will be on display around town, and you might even see Yogi Bear roaming the streets.

There will be a free shuttle operating on Sunday to transfer visitors from building to building. Food stands will be available and operated by the local 4-H clubs.

Sublette’s population of 500 is expected to increase to over 7,000 during the show. Sublette is known as “The Little Town with the Big Toy Show.”
