STREATOR - Carol J. Abbey, 67, of Streator died Feb. 10, 2013 at Heritage Health, Streator.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14 at Hagi Funeral Home, 205 High St., Streator with Rev. Danira Parra officiating. Burial will be at Wolf Creek Cemetery, rural Streator. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be grandson, Brett Elliott, and nephews, Noah Stahly, Ben Munson, Mike Pollett and Don Godfrey. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Steven Schuster and Alex White.
Mrs. Abbey was born Feb. 6, 1946 in Streator to Edward and Ellen (Bresney) Munson. She married David Abbey on Jan. 18, 1968 in Streator.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Tamara (Rick) Abbey-White of Mendota and Christine (Dave) Tkach of Streator; one son, David D. (Lisa) Abbey of Streator; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Kimberly (James) Stahly of Streator and Karla Pollett of Bloomington; two brothers, Edward (Debbie) Munson of Manville and Shawn (Konya) Munson of Summit, Miss.; and one sister-in-law, Phyllis Abbey of Peru.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Dorothy Atchley; and two brothers, Ronald and Randy Munson.
Mrs. Abbey had been employed at the Streator Garment Factory, Ben Franklin and Bernardi Foods. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Streator; the Ottawa American Legion Post 33 Auxiliary; and the Starved Rock Yacht Club. She attended Streator grade schools and was a graduate of Streator High School, class of 1964.
