Mendota showed its superiority from the opening tip and went on to a 63-40 triumph over Hall on Jan. 29 at Spring Valley.
The Trojans raced out to an 18-6 lead after the first quarter and widened the gap to 38-16 at halftime. The difference was 29 (54-25) after three periods.
Trae Blumhorst hit for 20 points and Evan Carroll contributed 13 for the Trojans. Blumhorst also led with 10 rebounds, while Blumhorst, Evan Carroll and James Carroll each had three assists.

The Trojans were able to outlast Oregon, 42-36, in a Big Northern Conference contest on Feb. 2 at Oregon. MHS improved to 16-9 overall and 3-6 in the league.
Mendota trailed 21-19 at the half, then both teams were squared up at 27-all after three periods. The Trojans finally took control in the fourth to post the victory.
Blumhorst paced the offense with points, while James Carroll added 10. Blumhorst also handled 10 rebounds, and had three assists along with Jon Gehm.
