MENDOTA - Cupcakes for the Cure was held at Mendota Community Hospital in September as a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Chicago. The event was a big hit raising over $955 for the charity.
Craig Smith, occupational therapist at MCH, came up with the idea for Cupcakes for the Cure. He coordinated the event with MCH employee Blanca Zearfaus, who baked and decorated 57 dozen specialty cupcakes, which were pre-ordered in three flavors.
