PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — Casey Sondgeroth of Mendota was among six University of Wisconsin-Platteville chemistry students who attended the graduate research symposium at Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich. in October. Students presented their undergraduate research during a poster session and learned about graduate school through speakers and talks with WSU graduate students.

“The symposium gave them a sense of what graduate school would be like,” said Dr. Raja Annamalai, UW-Platteville chemistry and engineering physics professor who attended the symposium.

UW-Platteville students Casey Sondgeroth of Mendota; Robinson Flaig of Platteville, Wis.; Erin McAllister of Cresco, Iowa; and Jeffery Furger of Green Bay, Wis. presented chemistry research posters to WSU graduate students and professors. “The experience was excellent,” said Flaig. “I am more excited for graduate school than I was before visiting WSU.”
