Gerald A. Engels

PERU - Gerald A. Engels, 58, of Peru died unexpectedly on Nov. 22, 2012 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2 at the Hurst Funeral Home, LaSalle with Rev. Antonio Dittmer, pastor of LaSalle Catholic Parishes, officiating. Burial of ashes will follow at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, LaSalle. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Engels was born Dec. 27, 1953 in Mendota to Arthur and Catherine (Pakenham) Engels.

Survivors include one brother, Richard (Pam) Engels of Peru, one niece and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Engels was an avid Bears and Cubs fan.
