Marie A. Zinke

MENDOTA - Marie A. Zinke, 89, of Mendota died Nov. 10, 2012 at Mendota Community Hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Ken Foster officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Zinke was born Feb. 9, 1923 in West Brooklyn to Ernest and Anna (Miller) Ponto. She married William Zinke on Feb. 9, 1940 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Church in Clarion Township. He preceded her in death in 1997.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald (Donna) Zinke of Mendota and Jeff (Jackie) Zinke of West Brooklyn; two daughters, Janet (Larry) Barker of Mendota and Judith (Don) Pierce of Paw Paw; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband and four brothers.

Mrs. Zinke was a member of Compton United Methodist Church and Women’s Society of Christian Services.
