MENDOTA - Several projects have been completed in Mendota and a couple of services offered in the city are coming to a close for the season, it was announced at the Nov. 5 regular meeting of the Mendota City Council.
Under Aldermanic Reports, Walt Weiland informed the council that the new well has been completed east of town near the new water tower. He said water samples have been sent for testing, and if those check out, the well will be ready to put into operation. Weiland added that the final project will be to build a structure around the well pump.
Weiland also gave fellow council members at update on the roof installation at the Mendota Civic Center. He said work should be completed next week on the installation of the new metal roof, which should last for decades.
Under Alderman Paul Norris's business, he reported that the final day for the leaf vacuum program will be Friday, Nov. 16. He also said the city incinerator-burn pit will close the for year on Friday, Nov. 30.
