EIU announces summer graduates

CHARLESTON - Jessica Arteaga of Mendota was among more than 600 students graduating after the summer 2012 session at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. She received a Bachelor of Science degree. Students were certified by their respective deans as having completed all requirements leading to the awarding of degrees.



Local students enroll in cosmetology training

LA SALLE - Ashley Saylor and Rachel Burress, both of Mendota, have enrolled at Educators of Beauty in LaSalle, where they will study all phases of cosmetology training. After completing 1,500 hours of training, they will be eligible to take the cosmetology state board examination and become licensed cosmetologists, skin estheticians and nail technicians.
