Alta M. Wixom

MENDOTA - Alta May Wixom, 83, of Mendota, formerly of Aurora, died Sept. 26, 2012 at Heritage Health, Mendota.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 29 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Larry Sheaves officiating. Burial was at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. There was no visitation.

Ms. Wixom was born May 22, 1929 in Mendota to Leonard R. and Matilda (Benedict) Wixom.

Survivors include two sisters, Jean Stenson of Plainfield and Lois Wixom of Highwood; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.

Ms. Wixom attended Mendota schools and was employed by Campana Cosmetic Co. in Batavia for many years before her retirement.
