Emmett G. Fultz

EARLVILLE - Emmett G. Fultz, 86, of Earlville died Dec. 26, 2012 at the Mendota Lutheran Home.
Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 28 at Precinct Cemetery, Earlville with Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Military rites were performed by VFW Post 4079. There was no visitation. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Fultz was born Jan. 17, 1926 in Hodgenville, Ky. to Albert and Redlee (Gardner) Fultz. He married Hazel Shahen in April 1943. She preceded him in death on Sept. 13, 2009.
Survivors include two sons, Rick (Nancy) Fultz and Rodney Fultz, both of Mendota; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Glenn (Ann) Fultz of Earlville.
He was preceded in death by his wife; an infant son, Emmett Jr.; six brothers and one sister.
Mr. Fultz served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed by Wurlitzer in DeKalb for several years. He also owned and operated a poultry farm and later was employed as a carpenter prior to retirement.
