OGLESBY - An open house at the Dickinson House in Oglesby on Saturday, June 8 will honor the retirement of Carol McConaghie. McConaghie has been well known for many years for her many contributions to the musical fields in the local communities. She was instrumental in starting up the IVYSO (Illinois Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra) 25 years ago and also began "The Music School" 21 years ago in her hometown of Oglesby. In her spare time, McConaghie dons the hat of pastor's wife to Jack McConaghie, Oglesby Union Church; mother; grandmother; and piano teacher. Her influence in the musical communties will long to be felt.
Join in wishing her the best as she retires from both of these positions. The open house will be held from 12-3 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
