Museum celebrates 20th anniversary

MENDOTA, A museum celebration and ice cream social to mark the 20th anniversary of the Hume-Carnegie Museum will be held on Sunday, Aug. 21. The public is invited to join in the festivities on the front lawn of the museum. Cake and ice cream will be served from 2-4 p.m.

Gerald Hornung of West Brooklyn will celebrate his 80th birthday on Aug. 30. Gerald was born Aug. 30, 1936 and married Janet Gehant on Feb. 6, 1958. They have four children, LuAnn Kromm of West Brooklyn, Rick Hornung of West Brooklyn, Connie Retzer of Rockford and Rob Hornung of Arcola. They have 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
