Matmen struggle in triangular

WINNEBAGO - The Mendota Trojan wrestlers were turned back by Winnebago and Byron in a triangular meet at Winnebago on Jan. 17.

MHS dropped a 52-16 decision to Winnebago. T.J. Christmann (132) defeated his opponent by a 5-2 count, while Toby Reutner (106) and Trevor Todd (220) both won by forfeit. Also for the Trojans, Leo Reyes was pinned at 120 pounds.

The Trojans suffered a 76-0 setback to Byron. Reutner, Reyes and Todd were pinned in their matches, while Jake Spanier (170) fell by an 11-3 score.
