Golf season comes to end

POPLAR GROVE - Mendota's two sectional golf qualifiers saw their season come to a close at the Belvidere North Class 2A Sectional on Oct. 8.

Sophomore Jaron Robinson finished the day with a 95, while junior Mark Prescott carded a 114. An 88 was needed to advance to the state meet.

Lane Barbier of Ottawa was the meet medalist with a 77, leading the Pirates to first in the team standings with a 340.
