Mendota won the first set but Byron stormed back to take the next two for a 23-25, 25-20, 25-22 victory over the Spikers in Big Northern Conference volleyball action on Sept. 24 at Byron.
Amy Devitt had eight kills and three blocks for the Spikers, while teammate Rachel Barr collected six kills, seven service points and three blocks. Also aiding the cause for Mendota were Hollie Reppin with 12 assists, Elivia Ambler with 14 assists and eight service points, and Brianna Correa with 21 digs.

The Spikers got back on the winning track with a 26-24, 25-17 verdict in BNC action at Winnebago on Sept. 26.
Barr led the attack with 10 kills and seven service points. Reppin and Ambler shared top honors with 10 assists apiece, while Correa had 10 digs.

Mendota (17-7-1, 5-3) traveled to Stillman Valley and took care of business with a quick 25-13, 25-13 BNC victory over the Cardinals on Oct. 1.
Barr and JoEllyn Parks paced the team with eight and six kills, respectively. Reppin led the Spikers with 16 assists and 10 service points, while Correa had nine service points and 11 digs.
