MENDOTA – The Mendota City Council awarded several bids for projects at its March 18 regular meeting.
During Alderman Walt Weiland's report, the council approved the hiring of McMahon & Associates for the design and build package for the new water treatment facility located east of town. The cost is $110,000.
In action from Alderman Paul Norris's report, the council agreed to award the bid for the East Fourth Road Bridge rehabilitation project to Len Trovero Construction in the amount of $113,070. Norris also noted that Del Monte Corporation has agreed to pay a portion of that cost.
Alderman Randy Morris recommended that Tom Kerns and Jerry Klatt be employed to run the city incinerator (burn pit) for the season, which was approved by the council. The council also agreed to employ Bryan Norris for part-time work in the street department.
In an item from Alderman Justin Setchell's report, the council approved a video gaming license for Sicily Pizzeria.
