A very short time remains before the 2009 Sweet Corn Festival Queen will be chosen to reign over the festivities of Mendota’s 62nd Annual Sweet Corn Festival this weekend, Aug. 6-9.
Be sure to join Mike Piller and Stephanie Daughenbaugh, Miss Galaxy, on Aug. 7 as they MC the evening of suspense and entertainment. Choosing one queen and two attendants from the 20 beautiful contestants will be a very difficult choice indeed for the judges.
Festivities will get underway at 7:20 p.m. on the First State stage on Washington Street in downtown Mendota with the pre-pageant entertainment, the ever-popular Decatur Park Singers, sponsored by R.R. Donnelley Mendota. These spirited singers and dancers will perform again at intermission of the pageant, while the judges are making their decision on “Who will wear the crown?”
