The weather has raised its ugly head and caused delays and problems throughout the area this winter. Mendota Community Consolidated School District 289’s building project was being delayed by the snow, ice and cold, but in the past week, the roof at the Mendota Lincoln School addition has been completed.
“It is completely finished,” Building and Grounds supervisor Ernie Engstrom said. “It is much warmer in there for the workers, and the floors are dry now. In a week, week and a half, we can start pouring cement for steps and ramps and get ready to start painting.”
