WARRANT ARREST

Steve M. Rose, 26, of 100 S. First Ave., Lot 7, Mendota, was arrested on April 29 on a LaSalle County warrant for the offense of forgery (class 3 felony). The LaSalle County State’s Attorney issued a forgery arrest warrant following a criminal investigation by the Mendota Police Department into the theft and forgery of Western Union money orders from a Mendota business. The subject was transported to the LaSalle County Jail on $15,000/10 percent bail.



WARRANT ARREST

Jeremie W. Work, 20, of 105 20th St., Apt. A-6, Mendota, was arrested at 8:45 a.m. April 29 on an outstanding warrant from LaSalle County for probation violation-criminal damage to city property. The subject was transported to the LaSalle County Jail.



DOMESTIC BATTERY

Jose M. Garcia, 26, of 1006 Fourth Ave., Mendota, was charged with domestic battery after police officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of Fourth Avenue at 12:04 p.m. May 1. The subject was transported to the LaSalle County Jail.



TEENS ARRESTED

Benjamin J. Burton, 18, of 807 Meadowview Drive, Mendota, and William R. Mueller, 17, of 603 Fourth Ave., Mendota, were charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia after the Mendota Police Department conducted an investigation at Mendota High School on May 2. Mueller posted bond and was released. Burton was released with a notice to appear.



POSSESSION OF

DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

Matthew P. Sterchi, 22, of 1212 Pennsylvania Ave., Mendota, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police officers assisted Illinois Department of Corrections, Fugitive Apprehension Unit, during a parole compliance check at 1212 Pennsylvania Ave. at 9:25 p.m. May 2. Sterchi was also arrested for a no bond parole warrant, which was issued after the investigation for non-compliance parole restrictions. The subject was transported to the LaSalle County Jail.



TWO CHARGED

Joshua J. Rapp, 26, of 301 12th St., #1, Mendota, was charged with delivery of alcohol to a minor after police officers assisted Illinois Department of Corrections, Fugitive Apprehension Unit, during a parole compliance check at 301 12th St. at 10:25 p.m. May 2. Rapp was also arrested on a no bond parole warrant, which was issued after the investigation for non-compliance of parole restrictions. Also, Jacob E. Jennings, 17, of 911 Fifth Ave., Mendota, was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were transported to the LaSalle County Jail.



NUMEROUS CHARGES

Gregory A. Smith, 18, of 801 Sixth Ave., Mendota, was charged with driving under the influence, consumption of alcohol by a minor, driving with a suspended drivers license, illegal transportation of alcohol, reckless driving, improper parking on the roadway and criminal trespass to a residence after police officers responded to the 400 block of Fourth Avenue for a reported reckless driver who hit the curb and was leaving on foot at 9:53 p.m. May 3. Police officers arrived and found the subject behind a residence being held down by persons in the area after trying to enter the residence at 410 Fourth Ave. The subject was transported to the LaSalle County Jail.



ALCOHOL ARREST

William J. Bender, 20, of 1012 Illinois Ave., Mendota, was charged with disobeying signal indicating approach of train, illegal transportation of alcoholic liquor, consumption of alcohol by a minor and escape from peace officer after a traffic stop at Fifth Street and Ninth Avenue at 1:29 a.m. May 5. The subject posted bond and was released with a court date.



TRUANCY

Seven juveniles were charged with truancy from Mendota High School at 8:59 a.m. May 5. They were issued court dates.



DRIVER CHARGED

Jennifer R. Boyd, 33, of LaSalle was charged with failure to wear a properly adjusted/fastened seat belt and driving with suspended/revoked license after a traffic stop at Tom Merwin Drive and 13th Avenue at 5:44 p.m. May 5. The subject was released with a court date.



DUI, CANNABIS

Cary Begley, 43, of Plainfield was charged with driving while revoked, driving under the influence, driving under the influence over .08 and possession of cannabis after a traffic stop at a roadside safety check at 7:34 p.m. May 5. The subject was transported to the LaSalle County Jail.
